11. *Proposal to increase retirement age, cut down pension in armed forces irks officers, veterans* : As proposed in the note, the retirement age of colonels (other than that of the Army Medical Corps and Military Nursing Service) will be increased to 57 years from the current 54.

12. The retirement age of brigadiers is proposed to be increased to 58 years from the current 56 years and that of the major generals to 59 from the current 58. No change has been proposed for the lieutenant general rank, which will continue to be 60 years.

The retirement of the Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Other Ranks (ORs) in the services (Logistics, Technical and Medical Branch, including EME, ASC and AOC) has been proposed to be 57 years. ORs currently retire after 17 years of service.

13. *In case of a personnel opting for Pre Mature Retirement or PMR.* accordingly For 20-25 years of Service: 50% of entitled pension
For 26-30 years of service: 60% of entitled pension
For 31-35 years of service: 75% of entitled pension

1. *US election 2020 results* The United States 59th Quadrennial Presidential Election was held on November 3, 2020. However, the election verdict of the country still remains inconclusive. The outcome of the US presidential elections 2020 still hangs in balance on Thursday morning as some key battleground states continue to count ballots where the tally could take days to complete.

2. *Why the delay in US Election results?*
Most of the States in the US allow electronic methods. However, paper ballots are the norm across the country. Before counting, there is a stage called Processing. Processing involves verifying documentation, checking signatures and scanning ballots. Later comes counting of votes. Every state in the country has its own deadline for receiving mail-in-ballots, processing and tabulating votes.

3. *US Presidential Election: Results awaited from key states* Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden is leading the race with 253 seats while incumbent President Donald Trump stands at 213 seats.
