Sakshi, Delhi:
Arrested in a liquor case. The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed her petition. The Supreme Court has made it clear that the case cannot be investigated at present. There will not be a special investigation for only political leaders and they will have to face a trial.

"The law is the same for all, no special investigation can be conducted here like politicians. The issues raised in the writ petition will be investigated together with Vijay Madan Lal’s case. In this case, the petitioner (Kavitha) should face trial,’ said a bench comprising Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice Sundaresh and Justice Bela Trivedi. However, regarding the writ petition filed by Kavitha, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the ED to file a counter within six weeks.

Also.. The Supreme Bench instructed the counsel for Kavitha to file a petition for bail in the trial court itself. At the same time, the Supreme Court opined that since she is a woman, the trial court should take a decision as soon as possible.

It is known that Kavitha approached the Supreme Court claiming that the Enforcement Directorate’s arrest was illegal. But after her arrest, the ED brought her directly to the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. There the court remanded her and allowed her in ED custody. She is currently in the custody of ED. She is to be brought back to court on 23rd of this month. In this background.. now with the suggestion made by the Supreme Court, Kavitha will have to file a petition in Rouse Avenue Court.
