New Delhi: One of the saddest things in life is watching your parents age and realising that they won’t be able to do some things with as much ease as they used to.
However, after a certain age, they can relax with the money that they have saved, they can enjoy the second innings of their life and also make up for the sacrifices that they have made while they were busy building a life.
Man’s viral Facebook post
A man took to Facebook to share a story of his father’s work life and announced that the father is not retiring from his kirana shop after 33 years. “Alhamdulillah today Abba officially retires from his business of KIRANA shop though he was still not ready for the same. After running a pan tapri for 13 years he started kirana shop 33 years back at this rented place. Mastermind was obviously my Ammi,” the man wrote in his Facebook post.
“Because of my parents hard work and because of this shop I could complete my education without any financial crisis and without borrowing a single penny from any person or bank. He used to run this shop daily from 9 am to 11 pm with only 2 days leave per year for celebrating two Eids. I also used to work there till 9th std after school time and I still remember rates of many kirana items during that period,” he further wrote.
“Feeling both sad and happy as I would have definitely continued and have expanded this business nicely in a modern way if my parents had not given me proper education. It’s sad to see him stopping his work which he liked the most. Hope he enjoys his retirement and leisure time and takes care of his health which he has always ignored for us,” the post further said.

“Dr Sahab may Allah bless your patents with best of health and long life…and this the result of their long hardship that you became A Dr by the Grace of Allah Almighty…Parents are a noble and precious gifts from Allah & there is no Alternate in this world,” another comment read.
